WA Battery Rebate Scheme

The Western Australian Government is making it easier for households to take advantage of solar energy storage with the WA Residential Battery Scheme. This initiative offers rebates to help eligible residents invest in home battery systems, reducing reliance on the grid and maximising solar savings.

Due to commence on 1 July 2025, the rebate is limited to a total of 20,000 rebates, offering up to $5,000 for Synergy customers and up to $7,500 for Horizon customers. Additionally, interest-free loans of up to $10,000 are available for low and middle-income households.

Cheaper Home Batteries Program

Western Australia: From 1 July 2025, battery rebates are available under the WA Residential Battery Scheme to eligible Synergy and Horizon Power customers in Western Australia. Households are required to participate in a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) in order to receive this rebate.
